Paul Auster’s son Daniel Auster and Zuzana Smith, the mother of the dead daughter Ruby Auster was uncovered to have been overdosed.

The 10-month-old baby was purportedly found unconscious at home on Bergen Street in Park Slope, Brooklyn, on the 1st of November.

She was declared dead officially at Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. The medical reports later unearthed that she died from “acute intoxication” of the drugs.

Ruby Auster breathed her last from an overdose of fentanyl and heroin, uncovered by the medical examiner’s reports.

Before the arrest, he was arraigned on charges of manslaughter. The judge ordered him to return to court for a hearing on Thursday.

The judge had set Daniel’s bail reportedly at $100,000 cash or $250,000 bond on Sunday before the hearing scheduled for Thursday.

Daniel had recently attended a drug-counseling program and is sober lately, stated John Godfrey, a lawyer who provided Mr. Auster’s defense.

Speaking to the police, he also uncovered the devastating situation of Daniel over the loss of his beloved daughter Ruby Auster.

Zuzan Smith, the mother of the 10-year-old girl, told the police that Ruby was awake and appeared fine before she left for work that morning.

Forty-four years old, Daniel Auster was arrested after toxicology test results led the medical examiner to declare Ruby’s death a homicide last Friday.

He had been put on trial on charges of manslaughter, endangering the welfare of a child, and criminally negligent homicide on Sunday.

Mr. Auster had injected himself with heroin after his wife Zuzan left for work. Reports unveiled that he laid down for a nap with Ruby next to him in bed.

When Daniel woke up, he found his daughter Ruby blue, lifeless and unresponsive. Before calling 911, he gave Ruby Narcan, an overdose-reversal drug.
