Ryan Utterback, a Missouri man who attempted to have many LGBTQ publications removed from schools due to sexual content, faces a criminal charge of second-degree child molestation.

Ryan Utterback faces a misdemeanor charge of giving or attempting to furnish pornographic material to a juvenile in a separate case.

As he arrived at the Clay County Courthouse for a hearing, he did not respond to inquiries from KMBC 9 Investigates regarding the charges. On the other hand, Utterback’s attorney, David Bell, declined to comment on the charges.

Who Is Ryan Utterback? Gladstone Mo Arrested

Ryan Utterback, a 29-year-old parent from a Kansas City suburb, is charged with a fourth-degree domestic assault misdemeanor and a misdemeanor of giving or attempting to furnish pornographic material to a juvenile in a different instance.

KMBC-TV, an ABC affiliate in the area, broke the story first; Utterback testified at a school board meeting in November to urge the removal of books depicting sexual conduct from North Kansas City Schools libraries.

Utterback held up enlarged prints of two pages from the award-winning graphic memoir “Fun Home: A Family Tragicomic” during another school board meeting in October, while a member of a parent association fighting for the ban spoke, arguing that handing the material to a child amounts to “solicitation of a minor.”

Misdemeanor charges were also filed against him to provide pornographic material to a juvenile. According to court documents, Utterback’s next court hearing is March 10.

Missouri Man Charges And Assualt

According to court filings, Ryan Utterback is accused of touching a 12-year-old girl under her clothes and rubbing a teenager’s leg underneath her trousers on two separate occasions in 2020. In a separate complaint filed in 2021, he claimed that he began showing pornographic film footage to a youngster when she was four years old.

Other incidents of Utterback inappropriately touching a kid are also alleged in the probable cause statement. Utterback is accused of putting a 12-year-old girl on his lap and inquiring if she was ticklish in one incident. The child answered okay, according to court filings, and Utterback began tickling her sides. According to the probable cause statement, he touched her under her clothes.

However, because this is still in an investigation process, his jail term has yet to be revealed.
