His first team won All-South Central Border League as a sophomore, junior and senior. He has been in a three-time all-district and all-area selection. He finished his career with 267 tackles, 22 sacks and 3 interceptions on defense and logged 8 touchdown receptions on offense. He won a two-year team MVP name.

He also performed honorable mention all-state by KBCA as a sophomore, averaging 14.6 points and 9.9 rebounds per game. He is a three-time All-SCBL in basketball. He also competed in baseball and track and field, winning conference title in shot put as a junior.
