Sadio Mané was raised in the little community of Bambali, deep in the heart of Senegal’s south. Mané had to live with his uncle since his poor parents had more children than they could care for.
His desire to become a professional player was sparked after he saw the Senegal National Team compete in the World Cup and advance to the quarter-finals, even defeating world champions France in the group stage despite being a first-time participant. As a result, he began to take football very seriously.
