Thomas Eugene “Tommy” Stinson (born October 6, 1966) is a rock musician from the United States of America. When he first gained national attention in the 1980s, it was as the bass guitarist for The Replacements, one of the seminal American alternative rock bands of the time.
After the band’s disbanding in 1991, Stinson went on to create the short-lived Bash & Pop, in which he served as lead singer, guitarist, and frontman. As lead vocalist and bassist for the rock band Perfect in the mid-1990s, he went on to join the hard rock band Guns N’ Roses in 1998, where he remains today. Having published his first solo album, Village Gorilla Head, in 2004, Stinson went on to join Soul Asylum for the completion of their album The Silver Lining in 2005, and was a part of the band for the album’s tour the following year until becoming a permanent member of the band in 2011. In 2011, he released his second solo album, the highly praised One Man Mutiny, on his own Done To Death Music label, which he founded with his wife, Jennifer.
