Rugbyman Federico Martin Aramburu was shot dead outside the bar in Paris on March 19, 2022. According to daily mail, he died after a reported drive-by shooting at the Mabillon Bar in the Saint-Germain district.

The incident happened after a heated argument with other guests, sources told AFP.

Mr. Aramburu was eating burgers with friends around 6 a.m. the day before the shooting, after a night out. They allegedly got into an altercation with another group of patrons before bouncers separated them.

According to one police source, the other group later approached them in a car and fired several shots.

‘There was a conflict, that usually happens at the end of the evening,’ said a former Biarritz Olympique player who did not want to be identified.

‘It was settled, but the men returned and fired three bullets at Mr. Aramburu.’

He could not survive the injury from the shot and died at the scene. On the scene, several bullet marks’ were discovered. According to the Paris prosecutor’s office, a murder investigation has been launched, and the suspects are still being sought.

‘We are shocked and saddened to learn of the sudden and tragic death of Warrior #185, Federico Aramburu,’ the Glasgow Warriors said on Twitter.

‘The element of a true Warrior and much-loved by all, the thoughts of everyone at the club, past and present, are with his family at this extremely difficult time,’ says the statement.

Mr. Aramburu gave ‘his best to the national team,’ according to the Pumas, who added that they ‘will not forget his tries and performance at the 2007 World Cup in France.’
