Peter was featured in the original Mission: Impossible television series as Willy Armitage in the 1990s. He was the Impossible Missions Force’s muscle man. He was featured in almost all episodes in the series. He was the strong, silent type and with little dialogues. Later in the show, probably during the fifth season, the producers came to the conclusion that Peter’s character was superfluous and that he should be dropped to recurring status. He appeared a little over half of that season’s episodes.
Due to the outcry from fans as well as lack of success in finding a replacement for his character, the producers had to return him to his regular status the following season and to his getting a greater role in the stories.
