Many people might wonder about the eye patch of Stuart Rhodes. The 56 years old man was at the Capitol on January 6 but said he did not enter the building.

He is the highest profiled person charged in the investigation so far. Along with him, there are other 10 Oath Keepers members or associates, as per officials.

His injury happened back in 1993, according to an Atlantic investigation. The article stated that Rhodes was a former firearms instructor, dropped a loaded handgun.

It shot him in the face, blinding in his left eye. Nothing much is known about the accident rather than it being a mishap. Even in his biographies, nothing is mentioned on his eye patch.

Many Oath Keepers members were arrested including Rhodes, who was taken into custody in Phoenix. A federal grand jury in the District leveled the new charges focusing on what prosecutors say is a core group of Oath Keepers.

The adherents who allegedly planned for and participated in obstructing Congress on the day lawmakers certified President Biden’s 2020 election victory.

Upon questioning and during interviews, Rhodes continuously denied his involvement in the conspiracy and any wrongdoings. He said he communicated with his associate to keep them away from any kind of trouble.

Stuart Rhodes was arrested in Little Elm, Texas, according to the U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia. He was seen with several of the defendants gathered outside the Capitol ground.

In previous court documents in the conspiracy case against the Oath Keepers, Rhodes was repeatedly referred to as “Person 1” as prosecutors outlined his communication to members in advance to January 6.

The charges against Stuart Rhodes send a strong message about the criminal conspiracy he was engaged in, “Javed Ali,” the former senior counterterrorism director at the National Security Council and a former FBI and DHS officials.

Where Is Stuart Rhodes Now?

Stuart Rhodes, the leader and founder of the far-right Oath Keepers militant was arrested on Thursday, 13th January 2022. The charge is for seditious conspiracy for organizing a wide-ranging plot to storm the Capitol last January 6.

As per the lawyer, Jonathon Moseley, Mr. Rhodes was arrested shortly before 1 pm. The Oath keepers, along with the Proud Boys, have emerged as the most prominent far-right extremists to have taken part in the assault on the Capitol.

A conviction on the charge of seditious conspiracy carries a maximum sentence of no more than 20 years. Rhodes, however, denies the involvement in urging the group.
