Mindy Kaling is an American actress, writer, comedian, and producer. Her real name is Vera Mindy Chokalingam, but she goes by Mindy Kaling professionally.
Kaling is best known for her work on the television series “The Office” where she played the character Kelly Kapoor, as well as for creating, producing, and starring in the comedy series “The Mindy Project.”

She has an elder brother, Vijay. Kaling’s parents are from India and met while working at the same hospital in Nigeria. Her father, a Tamil raised in Chennai, was overseeing the building of a hospital wing.
