Miami Schedule

After going 5-7 in 2022, Miami (FL) needed to get off to a fast start this season as they look to return to winning ways. A comfortable 38-3 win in the Battle of Miami against the Miami (OH) Redhawks was a good way to start, but there will be much tougher tests for Miami head coach Mario Cristobal and his highly talented Hurricanes team. Those tests start in Week 2.

The Canes and the Aggies clashed one year ago, with Texas A&M coming out on the winning side of a low-scoring affair in mid-September. That leveled the head-to-head record at two apiece after Miami put together consecutive comfortable wins in 2007 and 2008. They have the talent to compete in 2023, but a loss could prove catastrophic with FSU, Clemson, and UNC to come.

Texas A&M Schedule

After ruthlessly dispatching New Mexico 52-10 in Week 1, Texas A&M faces their most difficult out-of-conference clash of the season when they travel to Miami Gardens to try and ride out the Hurricanes. With road trips to Knoxville, Oxford, and Baton Rouge on their SEC schedule, this isn’t their toughest road assignment, but it could be key to unlocking the Aggie’s potential.

A win on Saturday, combined with their Week 1 victory and an assumed triumph over Louisiana-Monroe in Week 3, would put the Aggies at 3-0 heading into conference play. That would leave them needing just three wins from the rest of the year to outstrip their 2022 result and return to bowl eligibility. South Carolina, Mississippi State, and Abilene Christian are winnable games.
