Meet Melissa Lucio’s Husband Roberto Antonio Alvarez

Melissa Lucio’s husband Roberto Antonio Alvarez wasn’t aware of his deceased daughter Mariah Alvarez’s injuries prior to her death.

He is reportedly charged with failing to seek medical care for his daughter according to the information provided in the article.

For those of you who weren’t aware of the horrific case, Melissa was convicted of capital murder after the death of her daughter.

In fact, since it is such a heart-wrenching case many were aware but, it gained significant attention after a 2020 documentary.

A 2020 documentary entitled State of Texas vs. Melissa by Sabrina Van Tassel depicted the horrific case of Melissa Lucio.

Not only did the documentary gain a remarkable response, but it acquired the Raindance Film Festival award for the best documentary.

The incident dates back to 2007 on the 17th of February when paramedics reached their house. Melissa had fourteen children.

When their youngest child Mariah Alvarez was unresponsive and not breathing the couple called the paramedics to their residence.

Upon the arrival, the child was found lying on her back at the home. The two-year-old was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

She reportedly had bruises, bite marks on her back, a broken arm, and patches of hair pulled out according to the paramedics.

Mariah’s condition was so disturbing that the physician said she had not seen that level of child abuse in 30 years of practice.

Following Melissa Lucio’s conviction, the infamous woman was sentenced to a death sentence by lethal injection reportedly in July 2008.

The death sentence was then challenged in the court on legal rounds however, the court upheld its death sentence back in the year 2011.

Since then the case has been filled with a multitude of controversies, Melissa Lucio hasn’t actually been executed as of now.

Roberto Antonio Alvarez and Melissa Lucio’s eldest daughter Alexandra is reported to be involved in the death of Mariah Alvarez.

According to a certain social worker, the eldest daughter of the Texan couple also played a part in the death of her two-year-old sister.

Alexandra is also a big part of the 2020 documentary The State of Texas vs. Melissa. Other details of her aren’t available as of now.
