Mary Delgado Now

After some run-ins with the law, including a DUI misdemeanor in 2010, the battery charges against Byron in 2007, and an arrest for public intoxication in 2008, she cleaned up her act. She now has her own real estate business in Tampa, FL, and married James Kordomenos in Cuba on New Year’s Eve in 2015.

Mary Delgado Arrest

Former Bachelor winner Mary Delgado has been arrested for the third time in four years.
Delgado, who received the final rose from Byron Velvick in Season 6, was arrested early Thursday morning in Tampa on a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence, according to her Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office booking report.

Delgado, 42, refused a blood-alcohol test and was released around 10 a.m. Thursday on a $500 bond, the report said. The DUI charge comes two years after Delgado was charged with public intoxication, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct at a Texas bar. She was also arrested in 2007 on a battery charge after punching Velvick in the mouth.

Mary Delgado And Byron Velvick

After five years together, Season 6 Bachelor Byron Velvick and Mary Delgado part ways.

The couple got engaged on the show’s November 2004 finale. (He proposed to the Cuban-born star in Spanish so her parents — who were watching — could understand what was happening.)

Velvick, 45, and Delgado first showed signs of trouble the night after they appeared on a Bachelor reunion episode in November 2007 when she was arrested for assaulting her fiance.

According to authorities, she punched Velvick in the mouth and was under the influence of alcohol when she was arrested.

Shortly after the incident, Velvick maintained that they were still happily together.

Just because you met on a reality show, got engaged on this beautiful incredible setting doesn’t mean that we’re Prince Charming or Beautiful Princess, he had said. It’s nothing like that. It’s just a real couple going through real things.

Mary Delgado DUI

A slightly nutty two-time contestant and one-time winner of The Bachelor was charged with DUI this morning in Tampa, Fla. Good old’ Mary Delgado. Mary, whose real name is Maribel Delgado, won the sixth season of the reality show and once beat up Byron Velvick, whose final rose she accepted.

Delgado, a former cheerleader with the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, faces a charge of misdemeanor DUI after refusing a blood alcohol test. She was later released on $500 bail.

This isn’t Delgado’s first run-in with the law. She was arrested in 2007 in Seminole, Fla., on battery charges for allegedly punching Velvick in the face. More than a year later, on November 2008, Mary was hauled off to jail for public intoxication, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct in Del Rio, Texas.

The couple weathered ups, downs, and beatings for years, but never married and went their separate ways in December 2009. Pretty sad story. On the plus side, Vienna Girardi is no longer the biggest train wreck to have ever won The Bachelor. Take comfort in that, V – you’re no Delgado!
