On Monday, Natali Tene, who accused Mario Batali of forcibly kissing and groping her five years ago testified in his sexual misconduct trial.

Natali Tene is a Senior Implementation Consultant at Propertybase. She came forward in 2017 accusing one of the biggest chefs in the US of sexually assaulting her. The case is now in the courts after Batali denied all the allegations.

Earlier in the day, Batali’s lawyer, Anthony Fuller, maintained during his opening statement that it never happened.

Natali Tene, a tearful Boston-area software worker, testified on Monday that renowned chef Mario Batali touched and pinched her “sensitive feminine parts” five years ago while posing with her for a “selfie” shot at a Boston pub.

She has knowledge of organizational change theories, leadership theories and practices, organizational cultures, group development behaviors, and consulting skills like contracting, data gathering design and analysis, designing interventions, evaluating results, and giving/receiving feedback, according to her Linkedin profile.

As Batali, 61, stood trial in Boston Municipal Court on a charge of indecent assault and battery, she described being “alarmed” and “shocked” by the meeting with the celebrity chef.

Her allegations are the basis of the single criminal prosecution stemming from several #MeToo-era allegations of sexual harassment and assault, which contributed to Batali’s demise. She came out after finding she wasn’t alone, she added.

Mario Batali, once the most well-known celebrity chef in the States, is on trial in Boston on counts of indecent abuse and assault stemming from a 2017 selfie session at a Boston pub.

Since the #MeToo movement extended into the world of restaurants and hospitality in the fall of 2017, several notable chefs and restaurateurs have been accused of sexual harassment and abuse, but Mr. Batali is the only one who has faced criminal charges.

If convicted, he may face up to two and a half years in the Suffolk County House of Correction, as well as being forced to register as a sex offender.
