With The Hungry Ocean staying on the New York Times bestseller list for three months, her books have risen as high as No. 2 on the list of best-selling novels. 

Ms. Greenlaw, who resides on Isle au Haut, Maine, was the first female swordfishing boat captain on the American East Coast, and she was the first female skipper in the world.
