Jonathan Stewart was a renowned sprinter at Timberline High School, where he enrolled. One of his notable sprint records was his third place finish in the preliminary rounds of the 3A District IV Championships in 2003. He had his best record of 10.78 seconds in the 100 meter race in 2005. This is still reportedly the fastest time in history the school.
Football still reigned supreme while he excelled during his career events at Timberline High School in Lacey, Washington, where he played for the school football team. Stewart recorded 1,279 rushing yards and 15 touchdowns in his freshman year. In his junior season, he averaged 37 yards and had 32 touchdowns.
After a successful high school career, he received several scholarship offers from various universities including Notre Dame, Oregon, California, Ohio State and many others. Stewart turned pro in 2008 when he was selected by the Carolina Panthers with the 13th pick overall in the 2008 NFL Draft. After his selection, he signed a $14 million contract with the team. In his rookie season, he threw up a notable record 100 rushing yards in weeks eleven and fourteen.In his 2009 season, he finished with 1,133 yards and 10 touchdowns. He played for the Panthers until 2018. Jonathan had signed a one-year extension for the team but was released in February 2018. After ten total seasons with the Panthers, Stewart joined the New York Giants on March 13, 2018. The renowned NFL player signed a two-year, $6,900,000 contract with the team. However, he was placed on injured reserve in September of that year after suffering a foot injury during a game.
