Jason Daniel Arno was the name Buffalo learned of him on Thursday.

Arno, 37, was. At Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, he got wed to a nurse. He has a little girl. Three years ago, he began working for the Buffalo Fire Department.

A city wept as inquiries into the fire’s origin, the emergency response, and the firefighter’s passing were launched.

On Thursday, Buffalo Mayor Byron W. Brown and Fire Commissioner William Renaldo honored firefighter Arno as a hero and devoted member of Engine Company 2 of the Buffalo Fire Department.

Arno was referred to by Renaldo as “a bright young man with everything in front of him,” noting that he recently got married.
