Lorenzo Lamas, the son of Argentine actor Fernando Lamas and Norwegian American actress Arlene Dahl, was born in Santa Monica, California. He is the stepson of Esther Williams, a swimmer and film star who married his father when Lamas was 11 years old. Both Williams and Dahl were best friends with actress Jane Wyman (who knew him since birth) and would later work on Falcon Crest with Lamas. He grew up in Pacific Palisades, California, before moving to New York City in 1971.

In 1979, he began Taekwondo, where he earned a third-degree black belt, as well as Shotokan Karate, Jujitsu, and Aikido, where he earned black belts in each. In 1975, he graduated from the Admiral Farragut Academy in Pine Beach, New Jersey.

Lamas had wanted to be in show business since he was five years old, when he told his mother, “I want to be a star…I mean, an actor.” “I heard you the first time, son,” she replied with a smile.

Lamas began his acting career in Tony Barr’s Film Actors Workshop before landing his first TV role in 1976. Lamas landed a non-speaking role as a jock in the 1978 musical film Grease as a last-minute replacement for Steven Ford, in which he dyed his hair blond. Lamas appeared in a number of TV shows in the late 1970s and early 1980s, including Switch, Sword of Justice, Dear Detective, Secrets of Midland Heights, Fantasy Island, The Love Boat, and Hotel.

Is Lorenzo Lamas still married? Who is Lorenzo Lama’s wife?

Lamas has had five marriages and six children. His first wife was Victoria Hilbert (1981–1982). His second marriage (1983-1985) was to his publicist, Michele Cathy Smith, with whom he had two children, both actors, Alvaro Joshua “A.J.” (born 1983) and Shayne (born 1985). Lamas was then married to actress Daphne Ashbrook, with whom he had a daughter, Paton Lee (b. 1988). She, too, is an actress.
