18-carat gold is a sculpture by an Italian artist, Maurizio Cattelan, back in 2016. The 18-karat solid gold toilet is fully-functioning.

The toilet worth $1 million was reportedly offered to president Donald Trump at one point by the Guggenheim Museum.

It was made of 103 kilograms (227 lb) of gold. At the time it was stolen, it was worth more than 4 million dollars.

The Gold Toilet Scandal And President Daughter

Former President Donald Trump was offered the Gold Toilet back in 2017 when a White House requested to loan its 1888 Van Gogh painting. However, the former president’s daughter Ivanka Trump’s toilet scandal isn’t related to the gold one in any way.

Back in 2021, it was reported that Ivanka and Jared Kushner had been renting a house in the District of Columbia. She allegedly rented the house for the agents to use the bathroom.

The Secret Service detail that they were instructed to use any of the half-dozen bathrooms inside the couple’s residence.

Reportedly, since September 2017, the federal government was spending $3,000/month to rent a basement studio with a bathroom.

The 6.5 bathrooms in the couple’s residence were declared off-limits to the people. However, the White House had declined all the claims at the time.

The Gold Toilet Scandal In TikTok

18-Carat Gold Toilet Name Revealed

According to Wikipedia, 18-carat fully-functioning gold toilet’s name is America (Cattelan). Cattelan created the toilet in 2016 for the Soloman R. Guggenhein Museum in New Yory City.

The sculpture which was made in a foundry in Florence, Cattelan welded the several parts together. It was made to look like the museum’s bathrooms for visitors to use.

In September 2019, it was installed at Blenheim Palace in the United Kingdom. It was available for use as part of an exhibition of Cattelan’s work.
