Gary Erickson is best known for being a co-founder and co-Chief Visionary Officer of Clif Bar. He founded Clif Bar & Company in 1991 and has served as co-CVO since 2013 and co-CEO before that time. Erickson also founded White Road Investments and started a career in professional baking when he co-founded Kali's Bakery in 1986. Erickson also designed and produced bicycle saddles and graduated from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. He named the Clif Bar for his father Clifford. In 2000 Erickson was offered a deal to sell the company for $120 million but the deal did not happen. Along with Clif Bar co-owner Kit Crawford he founded the Clif Bar Family Foundation in 2006 and own the Clif Family Winery & Farm in Napa Valley.
