The group has grown to include 11,500 employees, 65 global subsidiaries and annual revenue of $2.5 billion. It specializes in providing software, products and services to a range of industries, including switchgear manufacturing, power distribution, steel and plastics. In 2013, the group acquired three companies in software and engineering. Loh also collects antique cars and publishes religious literature through his Christian Media Foundation. He is the honorary president of ZVEI, a German electronics and electric manufacturers' association, and established the Rittal Foundation in 2011 with a $6.8 million donation.
