What Is Franco Rinaldi Up To Now?

Franco Rinaldi has recently been a target of discrimination by Lucas Luna, a former candidate for Parlasur from the La Libertad Avanza party.

Luna made derogatory remarks during a virtual meeting on Twitter, stating that “nobody wants to vote for a disabled person” regarding Rinaldi, a political scientist with osteogenesis imperfecta, also known as “glass bones.”

In response, Rinaldi strongly rejected Luna’s statements, emphasizing that the qualities and requirements for political representation and governance are independent of disability.

He highlighted that physical condition does not limit the ability to inspire and mobilize voters.

Following the controversy, Luna publicly apologized to Rinaldi, acknowledging that his remarks were inappropriate and expressing his belief in Rinaldi’s qualifications for political office.

Luna resigned from his position as the seventeenth substitute candidate for Parlasur.

Despite the discriminatory incident, Rinaldi continues to advocate for inclusivity and emphasizes that physical disability should not be a barrier to political participation or one’s ability to serve in public office.
