In response, Rinaldi strongly rejected Luna’s statements, emphasizing that the qualities and requirements for political representation and governance are independent of disability.

Following the controversy, Luna publicly apologized to Rinaldi, acknowledging that his remarks were inappropriate and expressing his belief in Rinaldi’s qualifications for political office.

Luna resigned from his position as the seventeenth substitute candidate for Parlasur.
