Recognized for his role as Billy in the 2005 film The Ringer, Edward “Eddie” Barbanell (born 1977) is an American actor with Down’s syndrome who is best known for his performance as Eddie. He received his high school diploma from Coral Springs High School in 1996. The majority of his acting experience has come through stage productions. He has studied acting with Jay Lynch of the Opus Theater, Selma Glass of the Coconut Creek Recreation Center, and Allan Press of the Youth Theater in Boca Raton, Florida, among other instructors. In October 2010, he had a cameo appearance in the film Jackass 3D, in which he played a supporting character.
He co-starred in The Ringer with his close buddy Johnny Knoxville, whom he met while shooting the movie. He played himself in the film. Barbanell made a cameo appearance as Bradley on the Comedy Central series Workaholics in 2011, and he reprised the character in the season 3 episode “Booger Nights” of the show in 2013. In 2011, he appeared in the National Lampoon’s 301: The Legend of Awesomest Maximus as “Testiclees’ Cousin,” a role that he created. On August 15, 2013, he made an appearance as a guest on the MTV programme Ridiculousness.
