Ferguson was sued by a former producer of his show, Cynthia DeNicolo, in May 2021 in Cook County Court. She alleged that Eric had abused his power and position to gain sexual favors early in her career and stopped her promotions as a punishment as she refused to resume the unwanted sexual relationship.

Melissa McGurren also filed documents to the Cook County Circuit Court against Eric and called him a serial abuser of women. According to the documents he grossly abused his power, and because of his conduct, the station became a hostile working environment.

A third woman, Kristen Mori, a former sales employee, revealed that Ferguson groped her at a station Christmas Party in 2003, as per Chicago Sun-Times.
