Facts of Connor Payton

Connor Payton is the star kid of famous former American Football Coach Sean Payton. He was born in Texas and currently resides in Fort Worth.  

His mother is Beth Shuey. His elder sisterMeghan Paytonwas born in 1997. He studied at Texas Christian University.  Connor has impressive football skill and is seen playing matches. 

He is also an ardent basketball lover. Thefather-son duo are seen in different football and basketball matches. 

They both love the New Orleans Pelicans. In the movie Home Team, a fictional character of Connor is played by actor Tate Bloom. 

This made Connor a subject of interest in the eyes of people and has been getting a lot of attention.

His father

Sean is a former football player and the most accomplished football coach. He guided the New Orleans Saints and brought it to the next level starting from 2006 to 2022. 

Born in San Mateo, California, he was raised in Naperville, Illinois, by parents Thomas and Jeanne Payton. 

He was a quarterback in Naperville Central High school and Eastern Illinois University and played professionally with Chicago Bears and Leicester Panthers.

Relationship

When he was a coach for Indiana State University, he met Beth Shuey, an undergrad there. She took a degree in marketing. 

They dated for a while and got married on July 11, 1992. They were together for a long time but eventually hit the rough patch and divorced in 2014. 

She married Jamie McGuire later. Payton shortly started dating Skylene Montgomery, who was crowned Miss West Virginia in 2008 and is a nurse and volleyball coach. 

He proposed to her for marriage at a private party at the Longway Tavern. On June 18, 2021, they got married in Cabo San Lucas in Mexico.

Siblings

Sean and Beth welcomed two amazing children, Megan and Connor.

Megan has a bachelor’s degree in media production and sports broadcasting. She currently works in the NFL as a sportscaster.

Bounty Sandal

Payton was suspended from the NFL in the 2012 season for his involvement in slush funding in match-fixing. 

It was termed Bountygate, and an investigation showed that players were found deliberately attempting to knock opposing players out of the game. 

It cost him a suspension for the entire year, and also his salary was forfeited. He was reinstated on January 22, 2013.

Retirement 

Sean decided to step down as a coach of Saints after fifteen years of guidance.  During his guidance, Saints took a giant leap of success. 

He led the Saints to the playoff nine times, including Super Bowl XLIV. 

During his career, he got awarded as the National Football league coach of the year2006, ESPY awards outstanding team- New Orleans Saints 2010, and so on. 

He is regarded as one of the most successful coaches.

In 2002, the American sports comedy film Home Team was released on Netflix, based on true events when Sean was suspended as coach of New Orleans Saints for a year. 

During that time, he coached his son, Connor’s middle school football team.  Some touch of fiction is also present in the Movie and is played by other actors. 

This Movie reflects the father-son duo and how this period brought them close. Particularly, Connor’s limelight began after this Movie.
