Colorado Angie Zapata Murder Update

Colorado Angie Zapata Murder case is the death story of an American trans woman who shook the nation in 2009.

On July 17, 2008, Angie’s body was discovered by her sister inside her Greeley, Colo., apartment, who was fatally beaten, with blunt force trauma around her head motivated by anti-transgender bias.

The culprit, Allen Ray Andrade, admitted to police that he and Angie met on the social networking Web site MocoSpace, that they went on a date, and that he viciously beat her to death.

Where Is Allen Andrade?

Allen Andrade, the first-degree murderer in the Colorado Angie Zapata Murder, is in the custody of the police.

As per reports, the authorities arrested Andrade in Thornton, Colo., after responding to a noise call at an apartment complex on wanted on traffic-related warrants inside the victim’s car.

Initially, Jerry Garner, police chief in Greeley, arrested Allen on outstanding warrants and for stealing Zapata’s car.

On April 22, 2009, Andrade was found guilty of first-degree murder and hate crimes and was sentenced to life in prison without parole.

As of October 2015, Andrade is serving his time at Limon Correctional Facility.

Angie Zapata’s Family

The Colorado Anti-Violence Program, working with Zapata’s family, issued a statement asking for the public’s help finding Zapata’s car and condemning the crime as possibly motivated by an anti-transgender bias.

Angle’s sister, Monica, during the Anti-Violence Program, spoke about Transgender people deserve to be treated with respect.

Despite her supportive friends and family, Angie was no stranger to life’s difficulties as a transgender woman and faced harassment at school because of her sexuality.

Who Are Angie Zapata’s Parents?

Angie was born on August 5, 1989, to her parents in Brighton, Colorado was murdered on July 17, 2008.

The victim was survived by her mother, Maria, the 2nd youngest in her family.

The victim has three sisters, Monica, Stephanie, Ashley, and Nicole, and an older brother, Gonzalo.

Angie disclosed her female gender identity to family and close friends in middle school.

Although Angie presented as male in public was feminine and expressed an attraction to boys from an early age.
