The Carter family is once again in mourning as they bid farewell to Bobbie Jean Carter, sister to Aaron and Nick Carter, who passed away at the age of 41. Her death, which occurred on Saturday, Dec. 23, in Florida, has left the family grappling with grief compounded by the loss of other siblings, Leslie and Aaron.
Angel Carter, Aaron’s twin sister, shared a heartfelt tribute to her older sister on Dec. 24, accompanied by cherished photos of Bobbie Jean. In her emotional post, Angel expressed love for Bobbie Jean and wrote, “I Love you BJ, you’re free now.” The tribute reflects on the challenges that Bobbie Jean faced in life and the pain experienced by the Carter siblings.
“To my older sister Bobbie,” Angel began in the caption, “You had a great sense of humor, and a lively spirit. Growing up, I was your baby, and you were my best friend. Life wasn’t fair to you, that I know. Sometimes, it feels like you didn’t have a shot, no matter what.”
Jane Carter, the matriarch of the Carter family, also confirmed Bobbie Jean’s death in a statement to TMZ. She expressed shock and the need for time to process the “terrible reality” of losing her daughter, marking the third heartbreaking loss for the family.
Bobbie Jean Carter’s life journey included her appearance on the family’s E! reality TV show, “House of Carters,” which aired in 2006. The show provided viewers with a glimpse into the dynamics of the Carter family. However, Bobbie Jean later led a mostly private life, away from the public eye.
In June 2023, Bobbie Jean faced legal trouble when she was arrested in Florida for alleged theft from a Hobby Lobby. The arrest revealed additional challenges as she was reportedly found with a substance identified as fentanyl. Bobbie Jean pleaded guilty to charges of retail theft and possession of a controlled substance in November, as documented in Hernando County court records.
Bobbie Jean Carter’s passing comes just one year after the death of her brother Aaron Carter on Nov. 5, 2022. Aaron was found dead at his home in Lancaster, California, from accidental drowning in his bathtub, influenced by inhaling difluoroethane and taking alprazolam.
The Carter family had previously endured the loss of Leslie Carter in 2012, who passed away at the age of 25 due to an overdose of prescription medication. As the family faces yet another profound loss, they request privacy to grieve and process the impact of Bobbie Jean’s passing on their lives. The Carter family expresses gratitude for the outpouring of support and condolences during this difficult time.
