Catherine Martin is a costume designer and production designer from Australia. She is married to Baz Luhrmann, a director and producer. The couple has been married since 1997.  They have children: Lillian Amanda Luhrmann, born on October 10, 2003, and William Alexander Luhrmann, born on June 8, 2005.

Catherine received two Oscars for Moulin Rouge! in 2002 and two more for The Great Gatsby in 2014. She is the most decorated Australian in Oscar history, having won four Oscars.

She reworked her set and costume designs for Luhrmann’s Broadway rendition of La bohème in 2002, for which she received the 2003 Tony Award for Best Scenic Design of a Musical and was nominated for Best Costume Designer.

In 2009, she was nominated for a fourth Oscar for Best Achievement in Costume Design for Australia, but she lost to Michael O’Connor for The Duchess.

Martin was named Glamour Magazine’s Woman of the Year in 2013. Her work was featured in fellow costume designer Deborah Nadoolman Landis’ 2013 book Hollywood Costume.
