Anne Heywood is an English actress and former beauty queen who won the "Miss Great Britain" title in 1950 at the age of 17. She trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and gained early experience on the stage with the Highbury Players in Birmingham. She was signed to a seven-year contract with the Rank Organization and was mostly cast in 'nice girl' roles in the 1950s and 1960s. Later in her career, she was drawn to more troubled and flawed characters, and was popular with Italian audiences. Her most notable film was The Fox (1967), a pioneer lesbian drama in which she starred alongside Sandy Dennis.
